Diets for Weight Loss

The battle to lose weight is something that we all deal with at some point in time. This is especially true for women who constantly search for diets for weight loss. It shouldn’t come as any surprise then that the market is being flooded new diets on an almost daily basis. Some of these diets are good but some are bad. Of course, no diet works unless you stick with it, having said that, we will discuss some of these diets for weight loss.

The Zone Diet

One very popular diet on the market is the Zone Diet. This diet plan is a high protein, low carbohydrate eating regimen that is also low fat. There is a wide variety of foods in this plan but calls for moderation. It instructs on “good” carbohydrates are and promotes these for consumption as compared to more harmful carbohydrates. It uses the 40%-30% ratio which is 40% calories, 30% proteins and 30% fats. When the ratios are reached, the body is said to be operating in the “zone”.

The good thing about the Zone Diet is that it is in favor of balanced meals. Having said that, it is has been reported by critics that this diet focuses on one food group, for example, carbohydrates as being bad for you while pushing for a higher protein intake. Research indicates that all food groups should be promoted for a healthier diet for weight loss.

The Atkins Diet

The Atkins Diet has been around for quite some time and is one of the most famous weight loss diets. Although this diet has been modified over the years but it is still a low carbohydrate, high protein and high fat diet. The Atkins Diet is considered a very high protein diet while almost completely cutting out carbohydrate intake but is still one of the most balanced diets around.

Weight Watchers

Weight Watchers Diet is another diet plan that has been around for quite a few years. The diet plan itself has gone through many revisions over the years but the required weekly meeting for members has never changed. Members can attend these meetings in person or online. This is a more well-rounded plan since it calls for a combination of exercise, diet and lifestyle change.

With so many trendy diet plans out there to choose from, it is very easy to become confused and it is a little hard to tell which ones work better than others and which ones are just scams. It is much better to make up your own diet by trial and error. Your diet should fit your lifestyle and food preferences.

Your body is unique and works differently than everyone else’s so what works for you might now work for another person.

Record everything that you eat in a food journal. This is the only way to keep and accurate track record of how much you eat.

Be sure to set up your meals according to how many calories that you require and which will raise your metabolism such as eating several smaller meals rather than large ones three times a day.

This will help you have a working diet rather than one of the fad diets for weight loss.
